Camping
We haven't been camping once since having kids. Shame on us! We decided to remedy that by going out to Starvation Reservoir over my birthday weekend. (The big 3-0) We wanted to do a short trip in case it was miserable and it was a good thing we did. The day time was FABULOUS. The nighttime was a nightmare! Boston kept waking up every half-hour to an hour ALL. NIGHT. LONG. He is not a quiet child by any means. He would wail and wail waking up Brooklyn. Boston would go right back to sleep and I'd spend the next 20 minutes getting her back to sleep. Repeat when Boston starts crying again. By 5 am Ryan just threw Boston in the car to fend for himself and came back to the tent to sleep a bit. You wouldn't know it from the pictures that Boston had a hard time. He actually smiled in several pictures! Brooklyn didn't particularly love this trip, but she was a trooper.
I love these boys.
And these toesies.
Look at those dimples.
It was beautiful weather.
Posing next to endless sand formations.
We specifically chose a site that was family friendly with nearby bathrooms and a grassy area. It was perfect for our family.
We would do it again and again if we had some silencing magic to preform on Boston at night. Seriously, what more do you need than food, beach, lake, and family? It was a great way for me to turn 30.
