What a great day!! We had a lot of family and friends come to support us, and we are so grateful for them! Sadie was wonderfully behaved during the blessing, but to my dismay, the day did not go without an incident. MOMENTS before she was blessed, Sadie had a blow out in her dress!! It gets worse... this dress is my great-grandmother's dress made in 1895! I was freaking out! The fabric is super delicate and you can't just put it in the washing machine to get it out! Luckily I did get it out later, but this dress has to be sun-dried to keep it white because bleach is too harsh. Anyway, Ryan just put a receiving blanket under the big ole spot and took her up there!

I can't figure out how to turn the picture, sorry!

A four-generation picture! Sadie was the 5th generation to be blessed in this amazing dress!

Ryan's whole family was able to come. This will be the last time all of us will be together for a few years because Stef and Jesse are moving to Japan. We are so glad we were able to have the WHOLE gang! We love you guys!

That dress is beautiful, I'm glad you got the stain out and were able to enjoy the day without only thinking about the dress. She is still adorable!

you look beautiful erin! so does sadie. i think it's fun to have stories like that to spice up boring old blessing day memories. just kidding, but it is more fun this way.
Those blow outs! Such fun!
such a beautiful dress! I love the five generation pix
That is SO COOL that you she wore that dress from 1895 - WOW!! That is AWFUL that she had a blowout right before. When Addy got blessed, I was nervous she was going to do that the whole time. I'm glad it turned out okay, though. Yet, Erenya...you are in trouble!! Why didn't you invite me to her blessing?!?! I totally would have come! I want to meet that little girl and see you again, of course. You are in trouble!!!!!
Holy Smokies!! What a cool dress!! Now that's a heritage to live up to! Thanks for the comment about HOTNESS... I'll shoot it right back your way!!!
CLASSIC!!! I'm so glad everything worked out, what a neat tradition.
Wow, what a cool story about the dress. (not the poop part, they all do that when you put them in a nice dress) the fact that the dress is so old. How awesome is that! I heard somewhere that the pioneers used to dry whites on the grass because the clorafill (or something like that)in the grass is like a natural bleaching agent. Interesting
