One Year Older and Wiser Too!

Wow! Sadie is already 3 years old. Time sure flies, but I'm glad I get to spend it with my family! Sadie needed a little help blowing out the candles, but she was proud that "she did it".

Sadie concocted this bouquet of balloons. Can you tell?

Sadie was so hilarious after she unwrapped the big gift. She turn around with her arms stretched out wide and yelled, "IT'S A BOX!!!!"

Indeed it was a giant box, but a bike was in there too!

Sadie helped put it together step by step with Dad!

READY TO GO!

She got lots more gifts from Grandma and Grandpa too. She's one lucky girl!

Happy Birthday not-so- baby girl.

Straight Hair

This topic is not normally blog-worthy, but it is for Sadie. 25 minutes and a blow pop later, this is how she looks:

It looks way longer straight.

She is so silly!

I straightened her hair around 9 am and by the time she woke up from her nap at 2 pm it was as curly as can be. I won't being doing THAT again any time soon.

Boston Sitting

Boston is now sitting unassisted for several minutes. This is about a month earlier than Sadie. It is so fun to see the differences in those two. Here is a video sure to be boring for everyone but grandparents!

Easter!

Sadie got some cute clothes from Grandma Diana!

She wears her new "night time gown" every chance she gets.

They did an egg hunt with other fun activities for toddler gym.

She went on a second egg hunt with her cousin, Payton. She only got three eggs there, but she didn't seem to notice too much since she had her first cotton candy.

April Fun

Ryan and Sadie went on an adventure to Idaho! They saw Aunt Natalie graduate from BYU-I. They had a ton of fun!

Ryan took Sadie "fishing" in the pond right by our condo. Fishing is in quotations because we would never actually keep anything we would catch there.

They found a snake! Sadie's funny in that she'll hold a snake but recently has an aversion to holding worms. Weirdo.

Sadie and I love to get out when weather permits, so here she is at the playground.

Deviated Septum = Sleep Apnea

Ryan broke his nose a couple times playing water polo back in high school and much to the chagrin of his athletic trainer wife, he never had it set properly. Nowadays he's been noticing symptoms of sleep apnea. So he went to an ENT and they had him do an at-home test. The results led to an overnight stay at the hospital for more testing. Their conclusion was that he did have sleep apnea, but not the kind that can be helped with the CPAP machine (thank goodness!). Instead, he needed an internal nose job. They broke his septum, set it straight and then shaved down some of the terminate bones. I have to brag about my hubby a bit. He's is one tough cookie. He did all that WITHOUT any pain meds. He has a really negative reaction to any pain killers, so he pretty much suffered for a week. The doctor had never seen anyone do this surgery without pain meds and said that Ryan was his "index patient".

Here's a picture the day after the surgery.

Ryan felt he looked ridiculous, so he added some spice to the pictures!

I sure love this guy.

Boston

Much of Boston's fourth month of life has been indoors because of the yucky weather. Here are a bunch of pictures documenting it. I attempted to get him sleeping through the night by making him cry out his 4 am feeding. It really did not go over well and by day 6, I was too exhausted to try anymore. Maybe I'll try again in a month. This picture is too funny of him asleep in the jumper. Ryan was tending and he said, "One minute he was jumping and the next he was asleep!"

4 month picture

5 month picture

His 4 and 5 month picture isn't too different, but he sure feels different. He feels SO HEAVY! He's also much more engaged in reaching for toys and has really started letting me know when he's bored. He squawks and squawks until I get him a toy or until I play with him. Overall he's a really chill baby and I sure do love it!
