Sadie Turns 7!

Sadie had been asking about getting her ears pierced for a couple months, and we decided it would be fun to get it done for her birthday. Her birthday was on a Sunday, so we went on Saturday to start of the birthday weekend.
She whimpered a bit before they did any piercing...
They had two workers to pierce her ears at the same time. Sadie just closed her eyes and gave us a delayed, but calm response of, "Ouch!" And that was it! I was surprised there wasn't any tears. Sadie did great!
Sadie felt very fancy on her actual birthday.
She chose her outfit and we painted her nails to match her new pink heart earrings.
Sadie always has very complex specifications for her birthday cake. This year she wanted a two-layer cake with fudge frosting in the middle.
She then drew a picture of the top that had a sidewalk running down the middle and grass on each side. Hello Kitty was walking down the street and stopped at the candles.
Ryan is such a great dad! He delivered exactly what she asked for!
In lieu of a party, Sadie and I went to an amusement park called Castles and Coasters the following day (Memorial Day). Here is a picture of Sadie before her 'terrifying' experience on the log ride.
She preferred the kiddie rides.
I was successful in convincing Sadie to try another 'scary' ride, but I didn't get a picture. It was a giant ship that rocks back and forth. She just closed her eyes the whole time and asked me, "Why? Why?" over and over. I'm such a mean mom!
All the other rides were pretty tame.
We played mini golf after we went on all the rides Sadie dared to ride. It was such a lovely outing with my girl! This daughter of mine is so funny, smart, and helpful. She is also a kick in the pants! The other day I wash showering and she dumped a quart of cold water on my head! (in hindsight it was HILARIOUS, and I am rather impressed with her) Her dad wasn't at home and she doesn't have older siblings to prompt an idea like this. What am I going to do with her? Haha! I just love her!
