Newest Tradition

I'm pretty stoked about this new tradition and I think everyone else should do it too! We have been trying to center the focus on Christ during this season and it has really brought the Spirit into our home. Sadie came home from preschool with this gram cracker nativity scene.

It's so dang cute and so easy. They just used peanut butter as the adhesive. Keebler cookies were Mary and Joseph and they used a teddy gram for baby Jesus. They used oat meal as the hay and a fruit roll up for the swaddling clothes.

I don't know where the whole gingerbread house idea came about, but this makes more sense to me to make a nativity scene instead. As the kids grow, you can make it more elaborate with camels or wise men etc. At least for our family it will make it a very Merry Christmas!!!

Thanks for sharing. That does make so much more sense then a gingerbread house. I'm excited to try that next year.

Hey that's a great idea! Love it. It is our newest tradition for next year. I am printing out this post and storing it with our Christmas stuff so I remember. Thanks Erin.
