Boston's Baby Blessing

The day after Christmas, Boston was blessed by his daddy. He sure is a special little spirit in our home!

What an amazing day! It was so nice to have so much family and friends come to be with us for such a special occasion. We had some neat experiences that day and I have to share one. Ryan is in the bishopric and he happened to be the one conducting the meeting. Usually baby blessings are done during the business portion of the meeting before the sacrament is administered. Well Ryan forgot, or wasn't sure when to do it so he finished the announcements and then went right to the sacrament. I was all panicky and looked at him saying "Did you forget something?" He shrugged his shoulders and then leaned in to the other bishopric members and asked what he was supposed to do. After the sacrament he got up and made a joke about how he had done it wrong, but it doesn't matter as long as it gets done. The amazing thing about this is that I had a bunch of family traveling over 2 hours to come to the blessing. They came in right as the sacrament had ended and they thought for sure that they had missed it! Luckily they hadn't! I definitely consider that "confusion" a tender mercy from Heavenly Father.

A four generation picture of the Alkema men!

Meile and Boston

Xander is a month older than Boston, but I think Boston is bigger!

It was such a wonderful experience and I am so grateful for all the love a support shown to our family!
