Her first week

Well her first week was not as smooth as we had hoped, but when is it ever? She was only able to come home for one day and then she had to be admitted to the hospital because her billirubin was too high which was causing jaundice. She was also dehydrated to complicate things. She had to have an IV and was in these tanning lights at the hospital overngiht. We were able to take her home after that, but she had to be in the home tanning bed at all times unless she was feeding. I felt sooo sad for her! I just had to keep reminding myself 1) this could be worse and 2) she really won't remember this time in her life! I thought I'd put the fun pics first and then the not so fun pics last. She really is very healthy otherwise and is doing much better. We were able to stop the tanning bed on Saturday and we've been having fun since! Just a funny realization that Ryan pointed out was that she was born with tanner skin than her mom and now she's even more tan!

Oh she is so adorable!! I am sorry to hear that she had to go back into the hospital, that would be very difficult on mom and dad. I am glad to hear that she is feeling better. How's the nursing? Good luck with everything

I'm so glad she is home and you are having fun with her. She is SO incredibly cute!! I LOVED those pics! By the way, I pushed for 45 minutes, too - we are so the same, right? :) Anyway, I love her to death already. Have fun with your adorable girl and enjoy every second!

Sadie is so precious. Jaundice is common, but still not fun. Glad to hear she is back home and doing well. I am sure that makes you happy as well, there is enough to worry about being new parents. Newborns I have seen always have a tan complexion, it goes away though so don't feel too bad!

Sad about the jaundice... but at least it was over pretty quick. I can't beleive the hair on that girl! It's thick and wavy - all the other bald baby girls will be jealous ;) I can't wait to see what our little guy looks like.

Congrats you guys! Sadie is adorable. I can't believe all of that hair! I'm glad she has stopped the tanning so you can play with her. I'm sure it was tough having a little baby at home and not being able to hold her all the time. Have fun with her!

Look at that hair! The tanning bed pictures are the best... I cherish the ones we have of Luke :)

I'm glad she's doing ok. We had to have like Jack-Jack under a bed for 3 days, too. Definitely not as intense as Sadie's. No face shield. I think she looks cute under the huge beams.
