Uncontrollable Hair!

Yes ladies and gentleman, this is her actual hair in every picture. Photoshop has not been involved in any way. I am NOT complaining... I actually very much enjoy my baby's full head of hair!!

Family Fun!

The last two weeks have brought many wonderful family visitors! Ryan's mom, Diana, came to visit for a few days and we all had a wonderful time. Then yesterday Sadie got to meet her only living Great-great Grandma for the first time as well as her Grandpa Dick. Of course they all loved her!! We already miss you guys!

TAG

I've been tagged by my cute friend Debbie.
I'm supposed to name 5 unspectacular quirks about myself that others may not know.

1. I have to have the sheets lay perfectly flat across my body when I go to sleep. Also, if the sheets come untucked at the bottom of the bed I HAVE to fix it or it will wake me up so I have to fix it in the middle of the night. Which kinda leads to one of Ryan's quirks. He hates using a sheet altogether, so I have the sheet folded in half just on my side of the bed.

2. I love to play dress up, even now. One example of this was when I organized a wedding gown party for my BYU married student ward relief society. I just love it! On the other extreme, I love to be decked out for Halloween. I've always been the little girl that is a scary witch or a dead prom queen. Ryan thinks it's totally morbid and normal girls dress up as a fairy or princess. He has banned me from being anything dead for the next five years.

3. I refuse to eat fake potatoes. They are so putrid I can't bring myself to consume them. I have to have my mashed potatoes all natural. No exceptions.

4. My mother is an English teacher and this next one is kind of a pet peeve because of her. When people say the phrase "these ones" or "those ones" I have to secretly correct them. For those of you who use that phrase you need to know it is incorrect. You just say "these" or "those". :)

5. I used to be a tummy sleeper but I have found it gives me severe neck pain when I do. I've slept on my stomach for so long, I can't fall asleep if I'm on my back. So I have to "fake my body out" by putting a pillow on top of me so my body thinks it's prone when really I'm on my back. I know guys, I'm really weird!

I tag Raeanna, Debby Peck, and Bridget.

What you talkin bout Willis?

Sadie is just growing up too fast for her mom but not fast enough for her dad. She had her 4 month check up and at 15.5 lbs. she is in the 87th percentile, and at two feet tall she is only in the 40th percentile. The following video was taken after one of those days where everything goes wrong, but heaven smiles at the very end so you can get up the next day with a good attitude. Sadie is not clothed because she had just pooped on herself and her mom. She had sort of laughed before this moment, but has never giggled before. We were so lucky to catch it on camera. We have NO IDEA why she thinks it is so funny when we say "What you talkin bout Willis?". Enjoy.

Just and update on Erin: Teaching dance has been going really well so far. I was especially surprised when the hip hop class actually thought that I was cool. Boy did I fool them! I've never been a "cool" dancer, I've grown up on ballet --which is very structured and proper. So I was pretty stoked that they had fun in my class. The 3-5 year old class was another concern for me, but they are super fun. Sometimes it gets a little crazy, but overall the girls listen and have fun too. It is good to be less stressed and enjoy myself while teaching.

At the 4 month appointment the doctor told me we can start Sadie on solids and I decided I am not emotionally ready for that. Am I insane? Yes. Would Sadie enjoy solid food? Probably. Will I give it to her? ...When I'm ready. :)

For Grandma Alkema

This video is because Grandma is missing all these cute words while living in California. This is just a little bit of her vast vocabulary! She just loves to be in her saucer!

Update

1) I love Popsicles

2) I have recently obtained new jobs... yes plural jobs. I have been looking for over a month for something that is worth my time and has a schedule where we wouldn't have to pay for daycare. I have been picky, so it's no wonder it's taken me a while. Well opportunity knocked in one day when I got two dance teaching job offers. I already will be teaching a two other studios. So soon I will be teaching dance 5 nights a week, luckily the longest stretch is three hours at a time. It'll be really fun and great to get back in shape!

3) I have been super stressed the last few days knowing that I'm going back to work. I haven't had to deal with this kind of stress in 3 months and I forgot how much I don't like this feeling.

4) Sadie is 3 months old on Sunday and I'm sad my baby is growing so fast. I guess I'll just have to have more babies.

5) Ryan and I had our 4 year anniversary this week and can I just say I LOVE HIM SOOOOO MUCH!!! We rented some bikes and went up the Provo canyon trail up to Bridal Veil Falls. It was so beautiful! Later we went to the temple to do sealings and then went to Tucanos. YUM! It was such a great day!

6) Now we really want bikes of our own.

7) Ryan's cute sister Brittney moved in with us and we are glad to have her!

8) I'm excited for football season. GO COUGS!

10 Weeks Old!

She's smiling a ton more now, but it's tricky to catch on camera.

We were a little late on the two month check up, but here are the stats on our sweetheart! At 12 lbs 5 oz she is in the 79th percentile, at 23 inches she's in the 66th percentile and 16 inches on the head circumference is in the 86 percentile. But in the hair statistics she's somewhere in the 90th percentile. :) She is doing great but we can't seem to keep her from exploring the mountains. Apparently nature calls to hear in more ways than one.

She just HAD to go on a six mile hike up some random trail she found one day.
Here she is with a ranger lady coming out of Timpanogos Cave on Pioneer Day.
She wanted a picture at this neat, man-made rock formation.
She wanted a closer look at the fishies another day, so we stopped here and had lunch on a nature walk.
