Combined efforts of Ryan and Erin created this cake. :)
Sadie loves to play musical laps.
Her special birthday card from Grandma Alkema
Sadie loves her cousin Payton and Aunt Jenn
Silly face with Uncle Devin
She was spoiled for sure
She sure loves Grandpa Dave
Pretty new dresses!
This kid is set on clothes for a while
Thanks everyone for the gifts!

Nail polish is pretty much her favorite thing ever. She asks to have her nails painted at least every other day.

It was a great low-key day filled with love.

Sadie = awesome

She now proficiently sings w "X" yz.
She can identify all her capital letters.
She can count to 13 perfectly.
Almost 50% percent of her speech is in sentences.
We just love her!!!!

In case you didn't see my facebook status the other day, or you aren't looking at our actual blogpage, you haven't heard our super duper exciting news..... We are having baby #2 in November!!!! We are so stinking excited and we feel so blessed to have another child! I must admit I'm not dealing very well with the nausea/vomiting. I have been neglecting friends and family because of this, but I promise my old self will be back around July.... hopefully sooner!

I love you little grape-sized baby!!!

Sad baby....

The month of April has not been good to Sadie...
  • April 1st: she threw up with no other symptoms before or after, it was kinda random
  • April 7th: complained of tummy pain and diaper pain for 2 days so I took her to the Dr. and she had a double ear infection as well as probable bladder infection. Antibiotics given.
  • April 14th: has had 2 days of fever (which she didn't have before) and continues to complain of tummy pain even though she's been on antibiotics. We take her to the insta-care where we spend 2.5 hours for them to tell us basically they don't know what is wrong and then they send us home! I was furious!!
  • April 16th: still not well at all, so we take her back to her pediatrician where she is diagnosed with herpes stomatitis (basically like cold sores inside the mouth). I guess since her immune system was down from the ear infections, she was more susceptible to the common cold sore virus. She basically hadn't eaten in a week and she had lost over a pound since her visit nine days before. So sad.
Note to parents:
Apparently insta-care is notorious for incompetence when it comes to pediatrics. Unless it's an obvious broken arm or stitching, your best bet is to find a pediatrician on call. I didn't realize until after the fact, that most doctors will have some type of after-hours accommodations. Now is a good time to find out that info...not when they are sick! :)

Anyway, she is feeling better today, but I'm keeping her isolated for one more day just to be safe. It's been beautiful weather, but we haven't enjoyed much of it. Hopefully we'll finally get some sleep and hope the rest of April will be more kind!!!

Fun...

For Easter we decided to get Sadie a baby with a stroller. She's been wanting this for a while, and she already has plenty of spring dresses, so it was perfect timing. She sings to her, 'feeds' her, and puts her down for night-night. It's so cute.

She loves to share her blanky with the baby.
Giving her kisses.
Sadie had a fun springtime egg hunt at Toddler Gym. She got all sorts of cool prizes.
Springtime is used loosely because it snowed pretty much all week. :(

One of Sadie's favorite friends, Sophie. They would'nt hold still so this is my best shot. Too bad it is all washed out.

Jesus wants me for a Sun -BEEP!

I realize you guys are not enamored by my child, but as her mother, I think she is hilarious. We were singing this the other day when I realized she wasn't saying "beam", so I had to record it. Here's the video for her Grandma:

laughs...

I teach several ballet classes of 3-5 yr olds. At the end of class they normally get a stamp on their hand as a "reward". (it is cheap for me having 50+ students) So I thought it would be special if I got them a Valentines sticker this week instead. At the end of class a student came up to me and said, "Can I have the lizard stamp please?" I replied, "You get a Valentine's sticker instead!" Her very loud response was: "DANG!"

I was showing the girls how to hold their arms without bending their wrists. I told them to pretend that they were holding a baby. One student responded, "Like baby Jesus!"
